Waynetown, March 29 - Mrs. Mabel Long, wife of Thurman Long, passed away at the home, 410 W. Main, Wednesday morning following a week's illness. Mrs. Long's death occurred at 3:15 o'clock and was caused by pneumonia. She was believed recovering when the end came. Mrs. Long was the daughter of Edward and Olive Greenley and was born Feb 23, 1890 in Montgomery County, Kansas. She was united in marriage with Thurman W. Long, June 15, 1916. Mrs. Long was a member of the New Century United Brethren Church, the DAR and the Order of Eastern Star. Those surviving are the husband, a prominent business man of this city, the parents of Veedersburg, a son Richard, age 9, a brother, Lawrence Greenley of Veedersburg and sister, Mrs. Harry Draper of Veedersburg. She was preceded in death by a brother who passed away in 1921. The funeral services will be held at the First Chistian Church here Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. J.H. Wilson pastor of the church in charge. Burial will be made at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church an hour preceding the service. - transcribed by kbz
